Disabled Access to Our School Site
Our building was constructed around 1970 and it is a compact, well-lit and well-organised school. It has wide corridors and doorways that make access easy for those with disabilities and those who may need to use a wheelchair. Ramps enable entry and exit to the school on all four sides of the building.
We have special toilet facilities (including a shower) that are spacious and central to the school, easily accessible to those with disabilities. There are two halls, one used mainly for Collective Worship, PE and dining; the second, front hall is also used for dining but more as a library, drama studio and additional group work space. We have one mobile classroom that has a ramp to access the classroom in place.
The school is sited on a 6-acre field with hard playground available on which the children can play at break times and to do outdoor learning whenever it is appropriate. It is secured by fencing so that access to the road is preventable during 9am and 3pm. This space is also used for car parking at key times: from 8.30am at the start of the school day and at 3pm at the end of the school day, helping to prevent congestion and promote safety in the local community.
